S&P and NASDAQ indices close at new record levels

US stocks finished sharply higher, with all of the major indices posting gains of at least 1.7% as risk appetite remained firmly in control. The rally was led by technology shares, pushing the Nasdaq indices to the top of the leaderboard, while the S&P 500 and Dow Industrials both closed at fresh record highs. Broad participation was also evident with the small-cap Russell 2000 posting a solid advance.

On that list is AMD and SpaceX.  Both are trading lower in after hours trading after reporting earnings. AMD reported a revenue and EPS beat with EPS coming in at $1.66 versus $1.62 on revenues of $11.5 million versus $11.31 billion expected. It wasn’t good enough and the stock is trading down around 5.3% in after-hours trading. Palantir led the gains after earnings and forward guidance beat expectations yesterday.

Meanwhile,SpaceX reported its 1st earnings which came in at $-0.09 versus expected $-0.24. Revenues came in at $7.8 billion versus $6.83 billion expected. Shares are trading down -4.45% in after-hours trading
