A 'senior US official' cited by Reuters says that Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a ceasefire from 4 pm local time, which is just minutes from now.
Oil prices gave up a 50 cent gain and turned negative on the headline.
Earlier today, four Israeli soldiers were killed in combat and two days ago 5 were injured so this comes as something of a surprise as some of the hawks in Israel are calling for escalation.
