Iran's Foreign Ministry said talks with Oman over the Strait of Hormuz are continuing, with both sides working toward a framework to organize and safeguard commercial shipping through one of the world's most important energy chokepoints. According to the spokesperson, the discussions are aimed at establishing safe transit routes for vessels traveling to and from the Strait while maintaining stability in the region.

Iran emphasized that the negotiations are being conducted in cooperation with Oman and are designed to balance safe navigation with the sovereignty and national security interests of both countries. Officials said the talks have progressed positively at both the technical and political levels, with work underway to develop the mechanisms needed to manage future shipping traffic.

The spokesperson added that the negotiations are still ongoing, and any final agreement or details of the proposed framework will be announced once the talks have been concluded.

Crude oil prices are currently at $76.21 down $4.13 or -5.17%.. The low prices today reached $75.16. The price also moved below its 200 day moving average at $75.93. The price break however has since seen a rotation back to the upside.
